The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 2" x NH P120 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure sensitive adhesive backing designed to adhere to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It has a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The disc contains aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat that offer a fast cut for grinding and dual action sanding on metal, providing an efficient method for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The pressure-sensitive adhesive disc is pressed onto a separately sold backup pad, which attaches to various disc sanders such as disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide abrasive is selected for its fast cut-rate, long life, toughness, and self-fracturing property that exposes fresh cutting edges during use, outperforming traditional abrasives like garnet. This mineral is widely used in grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on various materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking.
