The 3M™ 61500122645 Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 6" x 1" x 1" and is composed of aluminum oxide 2A, making it suitable for applications such as blending and deburring. This product is designed for use in industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines. The unitized wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, which reduces the need for additional cleanup and preparation. Optimally designed for performance on a die grinder, the EXL unitized wheel minimizes heat buildup during operation, making it ideal for heat-sensitive materials. Filled with abrasive minerals, it effectively smooths edges of metal, plastic, and composites. The wheel is available with aluminum oxide in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, as well as silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. Scotch-Brite™ is noted for its unique surface conditioning capabilities, incorporating abrasives into non-woven nylon fibers to create an abrasive system that ensures consistent results throughout its lifespan. The open-web material selected is load resistant, which helps maintain high-performance cutting by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers.
