The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 2" x NH 50 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that securely adheres to a backup pad or steel platen, allowing efficient application and clean removal. The disc is constructed with a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, providing durability and stability under high heat and pressure. Its closed coat aluminum oxide abrasive offers a fast cut suitable for grinding and dual-action sanding on metal, making it effective for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The aluminum oxide mineral provides a tough, long-lasting abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, ideal for both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The disc attaches to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders via a separately sold backup pad. Recommended applications include blending, deburring, working on flat areas, grinding, orbital sanding, and random orbital sanding, particularly in metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
