The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D measures 2 inches in diameter with a 36 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This heavy-duty sanding disc features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It is constructed with a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. The aluminum oxide abrasive is arranged in a closed coat pattern to provide a fast cut ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal surfaces. This versatile disc is effective for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. The disc is designed for use with a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander when pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately). Aluminum oxide is chosen for its durability, fast cut rate, self-fracturing property that exposes fresh cutting edges, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing ferrous alloys and various other materials in wood and metalworking industries. The heat-resistant resin bond ensures the abrasive remains securely attached under conditions of high heat or pressure.
