The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D is a 3" diameter, NH shaped, P120 grit sanding disc made with aluminum oxide abrasive designed for heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient use and clean removal. The disc incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high-heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks such as grinding, dual action sanding on metal, deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. The aluminum oxide particles are in a closed coat, providing a fast cut rate with long-lasting durability due to the abrasive’s self-fracturing property that exposes fresh cutting edges over time. This mineral is effective on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys, and is widely used in both woodworking and metalworking industries. The disc is designed to be pressed onto a separate backup pad, which can then be attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. Applications include blending, deburring, grinding, orbital sanding, random orbital sanding, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing within metal fabrication and wood panel processing industries.
