The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D 12" x NH P100 Grit Aluminum Oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing that adheres efficiently to a backup pad or steel platen for easy application and clean removal. It includes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. The disc uses aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat, providing a fast cut ideal for grinding and dual action sanding on metal. This versatile disc is effective for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc is designed to be pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately), which attaches to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cut-rate, long life, self-fracturing property to expose fresh cutting edges, and suitability for various materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The heat-resistant resin bond ensures durability and stability of the abrasive backing under high heat and pressure.
