The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL Unitized Wheel measures 3" x 1/4" x 3/8" and is made with aluminum oxide 6A medium abrasive. This unitized wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for additional clean-up and preparation. It is designed for optimal performance on a die grinder, minimizing heat buildup during operation, which makes it suitable for use on heat-sensitive materials. The wheel is filled with abrasive minerals that quickly smooth edges on metal, plastic, and composites, and it is available in aluminum oxide grades including fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse, as well as silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. Scotch-Brite™ combines abrasives with non-woven nylon fibers to create a surface conditioning product with consistent results throughout the product's life. The open-web material is load resistant and limits clogging of the nylon fibers, allowing the abrasive minerals to maintain high cutting performance. Typical applications include blending and deburring, and it serves industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
