Phoenix Dryrod® II Type 2 portable rod ovens offer welders the ability to control oven temperature, featuring an electrode capacity of 20 lb (10 kg) suitable for 14 in or 18 in electrodes. The Dryrod® II Type 2 oven can be filled from a large capacity storage oven and is designed to keep electrodes moisture-free until use, ensuring compliance with welding code requirements in the field. This portable oven includes a thermostat for adjusting oven temperature in line with specific electrode needs, and an optional digital thermometer can be mounted in the oven housing to provide a constant display of the oven chamber temperature. Constructed from heavy gauge steel and powder coated for durability in challenging conditions, the Type 2 oven is engineered for multiple project applications. Key features include a rod elevator for quick removal of electrodes, a 10 ft cord that locks into the oven base for a secure connection, body and lid insulation that minimizes heat loss and energy usage, a safety yellow color that enhances visibility in the field, and a spring latch that tightly secures the insulated lid for transport. The unit operates on 120/240V dual volt heating elements.
