Its absence of pigment allows it to conform with FDA regulations 21 CFR, Sec. 177.15 and USDA 3A sanitary standards 20-17, making it suitable for direct contact with food. Typical applications include FDA compliant bearings and bushings replacement for stainless steel in food processing operations such as bottling, canning, packing, and processing lines, particularly for friction and wear parts like gears, sprockets, and rotational components.
