Hygard® BR laminates provide exceptional performance compared to traditional glass and glass-clad polycarbonate products, featuring a unique multilayer construction that offers resistance to both physical attacks and gunfire from high-powered handguns. The laminate line offers varying levels of protection, including certified containment glazing and Level 3 bullet-resistant materials, without spider webbing or spalling, which ensures clear visibility critical for response during an attack. These laminates are designed for security applications in settings such as detention facilities, government buildings, banks, and increasingly for employee safety in 24-hour gas stations and convenience stores. The Hygard® ballistic glazing grades include the Hygard® BR750 ballistic grade sheet, which is 0.750" thick and consists of a 3-ply polycarbonate and acrylic laminate, meeting the UL 752 Level 1 rating for 9 mm ballistic attacks. The Hygard® BR1000 ballistic grade sheet is 1.000" thick and constructed from a 4-ply polycarbonate laminate, meeting the UL 752 Level 2 rating for .357 Magnum ballistic attacks and HP White TP 0500 Level LV. The Hygard® BR1250 ballistic grade sheet is 1.250" thick, a 4-ply polycarbonate laminate that meets the UL 752 Level 3 rating for .44 Magnum ballistic attacks, HP White TP 0500 Level LV, and ASTM F 1233 Class 5. Lastly, the Hygard® MS1250 ballistic grade sheet also measures 1.250" thick and consists of a 4-ply acrylic and polycarbonate laminate, meeting the UL 752 Level 6 rating for high-speed multi-shot 9 mm (UZI) ballistic attacks.
