Paper phenolic sheet (X-grade paper phenolic) is manufactured from high strength paper bonded with a phenolic resin, resulting in a tough laminate that offers high impact resistance along with excellent tensile, compressive, and flexural strengths. This material is suitable for applications requiring robustness and durability, and for improved electrical properties, CE or LE phenolic grades may be considered. It is also commonly referred to as Micarta, Bakelite, Bakelita, riser plate, tooling plate, and more.
