The Baileigh Industrial VM-949E-VS is a versatile 9x49 vertical knee mill designed for hobbyists, small shops, and professionals, featuring a 3HP continuous duty motor that requires only 220V single phase power. This mill is equipped with essential features such as variable spindle speed controlled by adjustable sheaves/pulleys, allowing for an infinite speed range from 60 to 4,200 RPM for optimal tooling performance. It includes an R8 spindle and drawbar for compatibility with common tooling, made from Meehanite® casting for enhanced durability. The machine boasts a spindle brake for easy tool changes, a 3-speed power quill feed with manual wheel, and a digital readout (DRO) for X and Y axes. The power feed on the X axis provides consistent travel speed, while the dovetail ways with adjustable gibs ensure tight tolerances over time. Additionally, Taiwan lead screws with backlash adjustable nuts help eliminate backlash, and the way covers and wipers keep chips off the ways and bed. An integrated coolant system with a 6-gallon reservoir is included, featuring a plumbed return line from the table to prevent overflow and mess.
