Cogitherm® mica plates provide high-performance thermal and electrical insulation, specifically designed for electromechanical and thermomechanical applications. Made in two standard types, Cogitherm M (muscovite) consists of +/-90% Cogemica muscovite and +/-10% bonding material, offering the highest resistance to pressure, making it ideal for complicated cut pieces and suitable for continuous service temperatures of up to 500°C (932°F). In contrast, Cogitherm P (phlogopite) also comprises +/-90% Cogemica-phlogopite and +/-10% bonding material, with a lower resistance to pressure, recommended only for continuous applications exceeding 500°C (932°F). Both types are available in a "desmoked" grade, designated MC and PC, which emit reduced fumes during their first application. The standard untrimmed plate size is 40" x 48", which can be cut down to 20" x 24" sheets for shipping. Additionally, thin gauge muscovite (505 and 132) and phlogopite (505 and 132) sheets are produced in sizes of 39.27" x 23.62" and 47.24" x 39.29".
