Ketron® PEEK 1000 is a virgin, unfilled polyetheretherketone that provides chemical and hydrolysis resistance comparable to PPS, with the added capability to operate at higher temperatures. This general-purpose grade of PEEK is unreinforced, offering the highest elongation and toughness among all PEEK grades. It is suitable for continuous use at temperatures up to 480°F (250°C) and can withstand exposure to hot water or steam without permanent loss of physical properties. The material is a high-strength alternative to fluoropolymers in hostile environments and carries a UL 94 V-O flammability rating, demonstrating very low smoke and toxic gas emissions when exposed to flame. Additionally, the newly available black PEEK 1000 is especially well-suited for instrument components where aesthetics are important, as well as seal components requiring ductility and inertness.
