Ketron® PEEK 1000 (virgin, unfilled PEEK) provides excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance comparable to PPS, while offering superior performance at higher temperatures. This virgin PEEK material demonstrates steam and wear resistance, suitable for continuous use at temperatures up to 480°F (250°C), and can withstand exposure to hot water or steam without experiencing permanent physical property loss. For challenging environments, PEEK serves as a high-strength alternative to fluoropolymers. Notably, PEEK carries a UL 94 V-O flammability rating and produces very low smoke and toxic gas emissions when subjected to flame. Ketron® PEEK 1000 is characterized as a general-purpose grade that is unreinforced, providing the highest elongation and toughness among PEEK grades. The newly available black PEEK 1000 variant is designed for use in instrument components where aesthetics are a priority, as well as for seal components where ductility and inertness are crucial. Ketron® PEEK is readily available in 19 locations across the USA, Singapore, and Taiwan.
