Oil-filled nylon (green color) is a specially formulated liquid lubricant encapsulated during manufacture, providing true lubrication at the bearing surface, making it suitable for applications where maintenance lubrication is difficult or impossible. This material limits moisture adsorption, rendering it an ideal bearing choice for submerged or critical tolerance applications. Additionally, NYLOIL® Green oil-filled nylon is available in a natural-oil version for food contact applications, with the absence of pigment allowing this grade to conform with FDA regulations 21 CFR, sec. 177.15 and USDA 3A sanitary standards 20-17 for direct contact with food.
