Tygon® ND 100-80 tubing, which replaces Tygon S-54-HL, represents one of the medical industry's first non-DEHP tubing options, specifically formulated with a higher durometer that allows for the production of smaller diameter tubing while maintaining a high resistance to kinking and collapse. It is offered in five extremely small sizes suitable for catheters, intravenous or intra-arterial infusion, and various surgical and hospital applications. The tubing is rigid enough for easy handling yet soft enough to minimize puncturing issues. Being thermoplastic, Tygon® ND 100-80 can be fabricated into cannulas or protective sheath products through thermoforming and flaring techniques. This tubing is based on a unique chemistry developed by Saint-Gobain and is compliant with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) for DEHP, with each compound lot tested to ensure that DEHP levels are biocompatible. Furthermore, Tygon® ND 100-80 is made from a biocompatible non-DEHP polymer material specifically developed for medical device applications and holds USP Class VI approval and REACH compliance.
