Oil-filled nylon, characterized by its green color, features a special formulation of liquid lubricant that is encapsulated during manufacture, providing effective lubrication at the bearing surface. This material is designed for applications where maintenance lubrication is challenging or unfeasible, and it effectively limits moisture adsorption, making it suitable for submerged or critical tolerance applications. Additionally, Nyloil® green oil-filled nylon is available in a natural oil variant for food contact applications, where the absence of pigment (natural color) allows compliance with FDA regulations 21 CFR, sec. 177.15, and USDA 3A sanitary standards 20-17 for direct contact with food.
