Tygon ND-100-65, one of the medical industry's first non-DEHP tubing offerings, has been specifically formulated to meet the demanding challenges of applications such as dialysis, chemotherapy drug delivery, and minimally invasive surgeries. Serving as a DEHP-free replacement for Tygon S-50-HL medical tubing, ND-100-65 has been engineered for medical device manufacturers requiring a non-DEHP plasticized material. This tubing sets a new standard for performance and durability in blood contact applications, based on a unique chemistry developed by Saint-Gobain. Tygon ND series tubing is Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) compliant for DEHP, with every individual compound lot tested to ensure DEHP levels meet stringent medical tubing requirements. The material can be effectively bonded or welded using methods such as heat, electronic (RF)/ultrasonic, solvent, and adhesive, with considerations for bond security, material integrity, and potential residues affecting biocompatibility. When bonding procedures are not employed, mechanical clamps are advised for secure attachment. Additionally, Tygon ND-100-65 is made from a biocompatible non-DEHP polymer developed specifically for blood contact medical devices, fulfilling USP Class VI, ISO 10993, European Pharmacopoeia 3.1.1.2, and European REACH requirements. It is characterized as non-hemolytic and non-pyrogenic, making it suitable for a variety of applications including minimally invasive devices, blood and IV solutions, dialysis equipment, wound drainage, inhalation equipment, chemotherapy drug delivery, kidney dialysis pumps, and peristaltic pumps.
