The 30% glass-filled nylon rods and plates are designed for applications that demand higher compressive strength and rigidity compared to standard unfilled nylon. This composite material is significantly enhanced by the incorporation of glass fibers, which improve tensile, compressive, and flexural properties while providing increased load-bearing characteristics. The 30% glass-filled nylon delivers 200% greater strength than general-purpose nylon; however, it is highly abrasive and may abrade or gall mating surfaces. This material offers improved dimensional stability, making it ideal for applications where added stiffness and rigidity are essential, although it does exhibit reduced non-lubricated wear properties.
