The kit includes 30% glass-filled nylon rods and plates, designed for applications that demand enhanced compressive strength and rigidity compared to standard unfilled nylon. The incorporation of glass fibers significantly strengthens the nylon, offering 200% better strength than general-purpose nylon, while improving tensile, compressive, and flexural properties. However, it is important to note that the addition of glass reduces the non-lubricated wear properties, making the material highly abrasive and capable of abrading or galling mating surfaces.
