30% glass-filled nylon rods and plates are designed for applications that require greater compressive strength and rigidity compared to standard unfilled nylon. The inclusion of glass fibers significantly enhances nylon's strength, while also providing stability and rigidity; however, this addition can reduce the non-lubricated wear properties. Compared to general-purpose nylon, 30% glass-filled nylon boasts 200% better strength, although it is highly abrasive, which may lead to abrasion or galling of mating surfaces. This type of nylon offers improved tensile, compressive, and flexural properties over unfilled nylon, making it suitable for applications that demand higher load-bearing capabilities, as well as enhanced stiffness, rigidity, and dimensional stability.
