The 30% glass-filled nylon rods and plates are designed for applications that demand higher compressive strength and rigidity compared to standard unfilled nylon. The incorporation of glass fibers significantly enhances the strength of nylon, resulting in a material with 200% better strength than general-purpose nylon, while also improving tensile, compressive, and flexural properties. This material, however, is highly abrasive and may abrade or gall mating surfaces. The added glass provides stability and rigidity but reduces the non-lubricated wear properties. As a result, 30% glass-filled nylon is the preferred choice for applications that require added stiffness, rigidity, and dimensional stability, making it ideal for load-bearing characteristics.
