Rexolite® is a unique cross-linked polystyrene microwave plastic utilized in high-frequency circuit substrates, microwave components, and lenses designed for acoustic, optical, and radio-frequency applications. The kit includes Rexolite® 1422, a thermoset cross-linked styrene copolymer that features a combination of good physical properties and excellent electrical characteristics, including low loss and a stable dielectric constant, making it ideal for microwave lenses and precision components. Rexolite 1422 meets the requirements of L-P-516A (Type E2), formerly MIL-P-77 (Type E-2). The Rexolite® 2200 variant, a fiberglass reinforced version of 1422, has been discontinued, but was known for its enhanced temperature stability and strength, making it suitable for missile applications and environments subjected to extreme cold, thermal shock, and mechanical stress. This material was primarily used for printed circuit boards.
