Ertalyte® TX is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) designed for machining high-wear-resistant parts, featuring a solid lubricant filler that provides excellent performance in high-pressure and high-velocity conditions. This material is particularly suitable for applications involving soft metal and plastic mating surfaces, thanks to its high strength, stiffness, wear resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance, and excellent chemical resistance. Ertalite TX is compliant with FDA and USDA standards, making it ideal for use in food packaging and processing equipment. The material exhibits dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low-friction characteristics that surpass those of competitive filled polyethylene terephthalate polymers, serving as an excellent alternative to full-strength Delrin® AF for parts requiring food contact. The standard sheet size for Ertalite TX is 24" x 39.4", while standard rods come in 10-foot lengths, which can be cut in half for shipping via FedEx or UPS to reduce freight costs. The product comes with standard warranty terms.
