Ertalyte® TX is a high-performance unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) designed for machining high-wear-resistant parts. It features solid lubricant filler and exhibits excellent performance under high-pressure and high-velocity conditions, making it suitable for applications with soft metal and plastic mating surfaces. The key properties of Ertalye TX include high strength and stiffness, high wear resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance, and excellent chemical resistance. This combination of attributes makes it ideal for machining bushings and bearings that do not require startup or running lubrication. Ertalye TX is FDA and USDA compliant, making it particularly suitable for food packaging and processing equipment. Its dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low-friction characteristics outperform competitive filled polyethylene terephthalate polymers, serving as an excellent replacement for full-strength Delrin® AF in parts that require food contact. The standard sheet size is 24" x 39.4", and standard rods are available in 10-foot lengths, which can be cut in half for FedEx or UPS shipping to optimize freight costs.
