Ertalyte® TX is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) designed for machining high-wear-resistant parts, featuring a solid lubricant filler. It excels in high-pressure and high-velocity conditions, making it suitable for applications with soft metal and plastic mating surfaces. Key properties include high strength and stiffness, excellent wear resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance, and robust chemical resistance. This material is particularly advantageous for machining bushings and bearings that do not require startup or running lubrication. Ertalite TX complies with FDA and USDA standards, making it suitable for food packaging and processing equipment. Its dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low-friction characteristics surpass those of competing filled polyethylene terephthalate polymers, and it serves as an excellent replacement for full-strength Delrin® AF in food contact applications. The standard sheet size is 24" x 39.4", and standard rods measure 10 feet, which may be cut in half for shipping convenience.
