Ertalyte® TX is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) designed for machining high-wear-resistant parts, featuring a solid lubricant filler. This material showcases excellent performance in high-pressure and high-velocity conditions, making it suitable for applications involving soft metal and plastic mating surfaces. Key properties include high strength and stiffness, high wear resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance, and very good chemical resistance, which makes it ideal for machining bushings and bearings that require no startup or running lubrication. Ertalyte TX complies with FDA and USDA regulations, making it appropriate for food packaging and processing equipment. Its dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low-friction characteristics surpass those of competitive filled polyethylene terephthalate polymers, serving as an excellent replacement for full-strength Delrin® AF in food contact situations. The standard sheet size is 24" x 39.4", and standard rods are 10 feet long, which may be cut in half for shipping convenience.
