Ertalyte® TX is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) designed for machining high-wear-resistant parts, featuring a solid lubricant filler. It exhibits excellent performance under high-pressure and high-velocity conditions, making it suitable for applications with soft metal and plastic mating surfaces. Key properties include high strength and stiffness, exceptional wear resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance, and impressive chemical resistance. These attributes make it ideal for the production of bushings and bearings that require no startup or running lubrication. Ertalyte TX is compliant with FDA and USDA regulations, making it suitable for use in food packaging and processing equipment, and it provides better dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low-friction characteristics compared to competing filled polyethylene terephthalate polymers. It serves as an excellent replacement for full-strength Delrin® AF in applications requiring contact with food. The standard sheet size is 24" x 39.4", and standard rods are available in 10-foot lengths, which may be cut in half for FedEx or UPS shipping to reduce freight costs.
