Ertalyte® TX is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) designed for machining high-wear-resistant parts, featuring a solid lubricant filler. This material exhibits excellent performance in high-pressure and high-velocity conditions, making it suitable for applications with soft metal and plastic mating surfaces. Key properties include high strength and stiffness, high wear resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance, and excellent chemical resistance, positioning it as an ideal choice for machining bushings and bearings that require no startup or running lubrication. Ertalye TX complies with FDA and USDA standards, making it suitable for use in food packaging and processing equipment. The dimensions of standard sheets are 24" x 39.4", and standard rods are available in 10-foot lengths, which may be cut in half for shipping convenience. This material serves as an excellent replacement for full-strength Delrin® AF when parts require food contact.
