Insul-Lock® self seal is available in a 6-foot length, with a nominal inner diameter of 5/8 inch and a wall thickness of 3/8 inch. This superior closed cell insulation is engineered to effectively retard heat flow and prevent condensation when properly installed. The Insul-Lock® Seam-Seal pipe insulation features a pre-slit design with a factory-applied specially formulated bonding adhesive on both seam surfaces, complemented by convenient built-in release liners for easy installation. It is ideal for use in applications such as refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, roof drains, and chilled water systems. Constructed from a UV resistant elastomeric blend, it requires no additional protective coating for moderate UV exposure, but for severe UV exposure or optimal performance, a protective coating or approved jacketing or cladding is recommended. This product complies with various specifications, including ASTM C 534 Type 1 (tubing), Grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, and USDA requirements. Additionally, it has a UL 94-5V flammability classification (recognition no. E300774) and has been tested according to ASTM E 84 with a 1-1/2 inch 25/50 rating, meeting the requirements of CAN/ULC S102-03. It also holds FMRC approval as detailed in chapter 14 for pipe insulation, meets NFPA 90A section 2.3.3 for supplementary materials for air distribution systems, complies with ASTM C 411 for hot surface performance of high-temperature thermal insulation, and meets UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 for mold growth and air erosion.
