Insul-Tube® is an advanced insulation solution designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems, while also effectively managing heat flow for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and many solar systems. Engineered specifically for the HVAC and refrigeration industry, Insul-Tube® is non-porous, non-fibrous, and resistant to mold growth, thanks to an incorporated EPA registered antimicrobial agent that provides added protection against mold, fungal, and bacterial growth. Constructed from a UV resistant elastomeric blend, it requires no additional protective coating for moderate UV exposure, but for severe UV exposure, such as in rooftop applications, a protective coating or approved jacketing or cladding is recommended. Specification compliance includes ASTM C 534 Type 1 (tubing) Grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, and USDA requirements. It has a UL 94-5V flammability classification (recognition no. E300774) and is tested according to ASTM E 84 2" 25/50 per UL 723 and NFPA 255, meeting the requirements of CAN/ULC S102 03. Additionally, it has FMRC approval under chapter 14 for pipe insulation, holds an NFPA no. 101 class A rating, complies with requirements of NFPA 90A sect. 2.3.3 for supplementary materials for air distribution systems, and meets ASTM C 411 standards for hot surface performance of high temperature thermal insulation and UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 regarding mold growth and air erosion.
