Insul-Tube® is a 6-foot long pipe insulation product with a 2" wall thickness and a 5-5/8" nominal inner diameter, designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems. It also effectively reduces heat flow in hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and many solar systems, making it suitable for the HVAC and refrigeration industry. The insulation is non-porous, non-fibrous, and resistant to mold growth, incorporating an EPA registered antimicrobial agent for added protection against mold, fungal, and bacterial proliferation. The product is manufactured from a UV resistant elastomeric blend, which eliminates the need for additional protective coating under moderate UV exposure; however, for severe UV exposure, such as rooftop applications, the use of protective coatings, approved jacketing, or cladding is recommended. It meets various specifications including ASTM C 534 type 1 (tubing) grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, USDA requirements, and has a UL 94-5V flammability classification (recognition no. E300774). Insul-Tube® is tested in accordance with ASTM E 84 for a 2" 25/50 rating according to UL 723 and NFPA 255, complies with CAN/ULC S102 03, holds FMRC approval guide chapter 14 for pipe insulation, carries an NFPA no. 101 class A rating, and meets NFPA 90A section 2.3.3 for supplementary materials in air distribution systems as well as ASTM C 411 for hot surface performance of high temperature thermal insulation. It is also compliant with UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 concerning mold growth and air erosion. Insul-Tube® is sold in package quantities of 1 and is priced per unit.
