Insul-Tube® is a 6-foot long insulation product with a 1-inch wall thickness and a nominal inner diameter (I.D.) of 4-1/8 inches, designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems. It also effectively reduces heat flow for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and various solar systems, making it suitable for the HVAC and refrigeration industries. Insul-Tube® is constructed from a non-porous, non-fibrous material that resists mold growth and incorporates an EPA-registered antimicrobial agent for enhanced protection against mold, fungal, and bacterial growth. The insulation is made from a UV-resistant elastomeric blend, which requires no additional protective coating under moderate UV exposure; however, for severe UV conditions, such as rooftop applications, the use of 374 protective coating or approved jacketing/cladding is recommended. The product complies with multiple specifications including ASTM C 534 Type 1 Grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, USDA requirements, UL 94-5V flammability classification, ASTM E 84 2" 25/50, and has received FMRC approval. It also meets the requirements of NFPA 90A, ASTM C 411, and UL 181 sections for mold growth and air erosion. Insul-Tube® is sold in packages of 3, with each unit priced individually.
