Insul-Tube® is an advanced insulation solution designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems, while also effectively reducing heat flow for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and various solar systems. Targeted towards the HVAC and refrigeration industry, Insul-Tube® is composed of a non-porous, non-fibrous material that resists mold growth due to the incorporation of an EPA registered antimicrobial agent. The pipe insulation is manufactured from a UV resistant elastomeric blend, requiring no additional protective coating for moderate UV exposure, but recommending the use of 374 protective coating or approved jacketing or cladding for severe UV conditions, such as rooftop installations. Insul-Tube® complies with several rigorous specifications, including ASTM C 534 type 1 (tubing) grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M vol. IV, USDA requirements, and UL 94-5V flammability classification (recognition no. E300774). Additionally, it meets ASTM E 84 2" 25/50-tested according to UL 723 and NFPA 255, complies with requirements of CAN/ULC S102 03, holds FMRC approval under guide chapter 14 for pipe insulation, has an NFPA no. 101 class A rating, fulfills NFPA 90A sect. 2.3.3 requirements for supplementary materials in air distribution systems, and satisfies ASTM C 411 for hot surface performance of high temperature thermal insulation. Furthermore, it meets requirements of UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 regarding mold growth and air erosion, and is sold in a package quantity of 85.
