Insul-Tube® is a 6-foot long pipe insulation product featuring a 5/8" nominal inner diameter and a 3/8" wall thickness, designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems. This insulation also minimizes heat flow for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and various solar systems. Specifically engineered for the HVAC and refrigeration industries, Insul-Tube® is made from a non-porous, non-fibrous elastomeric blend that resists mold growth, enhanced by an EPA registered antimicrobial agent incorporated into the product. It is UV resistant, requiring no additional protective coating for moderate UV exposure, though a protective coating or approved jacketing is recommended for severe UV environments. The product complies with ASTM C 534 type 1 (tubing) grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, and USDA requirements. Insul-Tube® also meets UL 94-5V flammability classification, ASTM E 84 2" 25/50 testing, and has FMRC approval as per chapter 14 pipe insulation. It holds an NFPA 101 class A rating and complies with NFPA 90A sect. 2.3.3 for supplementary materials in air distribution systems, as well as ASTM C 411 for high temperature thermal insulation performance and UL 181 for mold growth and air erosion.
