Insul-Tube® is designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems. It also effectively reduces heat flow for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and various solar systems. Tailored for the HVAC and refrigeration sectors, Insul-Tube® is non-porous, non-fibrous, and resistant to mold growth, enhanced by an incorporated EPA registered antimicrobial agent for added protection against mold, fungal, and bacterial growth. Constructed from a UV resistant elastomeric blend, it requires no additional protective coating for moderate UV exposure, although for severe UV exposure, such as rooftop applications, a protective coating or approved jacketing or cladding is recommended. The product adheres to specification compliance standards, including ASTM C 534 Type 1 (tubing) Grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, and USDA requirements, with a UL 94-5V flammability classification (recognition no. E300774). It has undergone ASTM E 84 testing with a 2" 25/50 rating according to UL 723 and NFPA 255, complies with CAN/ULC S102 03 requirements, and holds FMRC approval as outlined in chapter 14 for pipe insulation. Additionally, it achieves an NFPA no. 101 class A rating and meets NFPA 90A section 2.3.3 requirements for supplementary materials for air distribution systems, as well as ASTM C 411 for hot surface performance of high-temperature thermal insulation and UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 for mold growth and air erosion.
