Insul-Tube® is a pipe insulation solution designed to reduce heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems, as well as to retard heat flow for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and many solar systems. This product is specifically crafted for the HVAC and refrigeration industry, featuring a non-porous, non-fibrous structure that resists mold growth. An EPA registered antimicrobial agent is incorporated to provide enhanced protection against mold, fungal, and bacterial growth. Made from a UV resistant elastomeric blend, Insul-Tube® requires no additional protective coating for moderate UV exposure, though for severe UV situations, such as rooftop applications, the use of 374 protective coating or approved jacketing or cladding is recommended. Insul-Tube® complies with several specifications, including ASTM C 534 Type 1 (tubing) Grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, USDA requirements, and UL 94-5V flammability classification (recognition no. E300774). It has been tested under ASTM E 84 for a 2" 25/50 rating according to UL 723 and NFPA 255, complies with CAN/ULC S102 03 requirements, and holds FMRC approval in chapter 14 for pipe insulation. Additionally, Insul-Tube® meets NFPA No. 101 Class A rating and NFPA 90A Sect. 2.3.3 for supplementary materials for air distribution systems, as well as ASTM C 411 for hot surface performance of high temperature thermal insulation, and UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 for mold growth/air erosion.
