Kimble® Kimax® fritted disc crucibles are specifically designed for collecting, drying, and weighing precipitates and samples intended for gravimetric analysis. These crucibles are available in fine (4-5.5 microns), medium (10-15 microns), or coarse (40-60 microns) porosities, with the fritted disc securely sealed into the crucible. They are capable of drying precipitates to a constant weight at 110 °C and are crafted from 33 expansion, low extractable borosilicate glass that complies with USP Type I and ASTM E438, Type I, Class A standards. It is important to note that at higher temperatures, heating should be done in an electric furnace, and sudden temperature changes should be avoided. For safe handling, it is recommended that crucibles remain undisturbed until the temperature has decreased to below 250 °C.
