Rugged Carboys are designed for safe storage and dispensing of large batches of culture media, distilled water, and other solutions, featuring compliance with 21 CFR 177.1520 for direct contact with foods and beverages and USP Class VI certification suitable for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. These carboys boast excellent chemical resistance and are made from FDA-grade polypropylene construction, ensuring durability. They are steam autoclavable at 121°C (250°F); however, it is advised not to engage cap threads during autoclaving. Each carboy is equipped with an 83mm screw cap that includes a built-in thermo-plastic elastomer washer to provide a positive seal. Additionally, the molded-in bung allows for the attachment of an easy-to-use spigot, positioned low on the carboy for more complete drainage. The carboys are available with or without a spigot, catering to different user preferences.
