The kit is designed for rapid and repeated chilling of biological samples for up to 45 minutes, making it ideal for applications in molecular biology, including ethanol precipitation of DNA/RNA samples. It eliminates the need for traditional dry ice and alcohol baths by allowing samples to freeze within minutes after inserting them into a polycarbonate cooler that has been pre-stored at -20°C for 24 hours. The cooler holds up to twelve 0.5 ml or 1.5 ml microcentrifuge tubes, ensuring no direct contact between the tubes and the insulating solution, thus preserving labels and markings. The clear polycarbonate lid provides visibility to the tube positions and is keyed to match the corresponding printed positions on the cooler. Additional features include molded side handles for a secure grip during transfer and rubber feet to prevent sliding on the lab bench, making the unit stackable for convenient storage.
