Safety-vented wash bottles are designed to ensure compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and OSHA's HazCom 2012 requirements regarding "workplace labels." Each bottle is pre-printed with essential information, including the chemical name and formula, GHS pictogram and signal word, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Section 704 four-color diamond, health hazards, Chemical Abstract System (CAS) number, and suggested protective clothing and equipment. The unique valve prevents pressure build-up, which eliminates potentially dangerous chemical drips and allows for dispensing in either an upright or inverted position. The wide mouth (53mm or 2 inches) design facilitates easy refilling, while the translucent LDPE material provides visibility of contents; sodium hypochlorite is contained in a white LDPE for light protection between 230 and 450nm, and toluene is stored in a red LDPE bottle. Color-coded polypropylene closures enhance quick and easy identification. The kit includes 500ml bottles in packs of four and 1000ml bottles in packs of two, with an assortment of four per bag that contains one each of acetone, isopropanol, bleach, and ethanol.
