Insul-Lock® self seal is a 6-foot long, 1-3/8-inch nominal inside diameter pipe insulation with a 1-inch wall thickness. This superior closed cell insulation is engineered to retard heat flow and prevent condensation when installed correctly. It features pre-slit seams with a factory-applied, specially formulated bonding adhesive on both seam surfaces, along with convenient built-in release liners for easy installation. Ideal applications include refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, roof drains, and chilled water systems. The insulation is made from a UV-resistant elastomeric blend, eliminating the need for additional protective coatings under moderate UV exposure, although for severe conditions such as rooftop installations, a 374 protective coating or approved jacketing is recommended. This product complies with various specifications, including ASTM C 534 Type 1, Grade 1; ASTM D 1056-00-2C1; New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV; USDA requirements; UL 94-5V flammability classification; ASTM E 84 1-1/2" 25/50 testing; and meets NFPA 90A Sect. 2.3.3 for supplementary materials for air distribution systems. Additionally, it meets ASTM C 411 requirements for hot surface performance and adheres to UL 181 sections regarding mold growth and air erosion.
