Insul-Tube® is an advanced insulation solution designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems. It is also effective in reducing heat flow for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and various solar applications. This product is specifically engineered for the HVAC and refrigeration industries and is composed of a non-porous, non-fibrous elastomeric blend that resists mold growth. An EPA registered antimicrobial agent is integrated into the insulation to provide enhanced protection against mold, fungal, and bacterial growth. Insul-Tube® is UV resistant and does not require additional protective coating for moderate UV exposure; however, for severe UV exposure, such as rooftop applications, a protective coating or approved jacketing should be used to ensure optimum performance. The product complies with ASTM C 534 Type 1 (tubing) Grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, New York City MEA 186-86-M Vol. IV, and USDA requirements. It has a UL 94-5V flammability classification (recognition no. E300774) and meets ASTM E 84 2" 25/50-tested according to UL 723 and NFPA 255, as well as compliance requirements of CAN/ULC S102 03. Additionally, it holds FMRC approval guide Chapter 14 for pipe insulation and has an NFPA No. 101 class A rating. Insul-Tube® meets the requirements of NFPA 90A Sect. 2.3.3 for supplementary materials used in air distribution systems and adheres to ASTM C 411 test methods for hot surface performance of high temperature thermal insulation. It also complies with UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 related to mold growth and air erosion. The insulation is sold in package quantities of 8, with pricing available on a per unit basis.
