Worldwide Electric's open drip proof (ODP) motors are meticulously designed for applications in HVAC and refrigeration equipment, air compressors, and general-purpose installations that require cooler-running, non-enclosed motors. These premium efficiency ODP motors range from 1/2 to 125 horsepower, operating at speeds of 3600, 1800, and 1200 RPM, and are compatible with 208-230/460 Volt at 60 Hz and 190/380 Volt at 50 Hz power supplies. The motors feature an open drip proof enclosure, with a rolled steel frame for 1/2-50 HP units and a cast iron frame for 60-100 HP models. They provide IP23 protection, a 1.15 service factor (1.0 SF for 50 Hz applications), and Class F insulation, as well as a rigid base with a removable base on the 56C-face. These motors are noted for their premium efficiency and Class B temperature rise, making them suitable for inverter duty applications with a 10:1 constant torque and 20:1 variable torque rating at a 1.0 SF. The inverter-grade magnet wire used meets or exceeds NEMA MG-1 Part 31 standards. Installation is straightforward, featuring pre-drilled and tapped drive endbells on the 143T frame and larger to accept Inpro current diverter rings without the need for machining. Additionally, the exclusive double vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) insulation system and double-drilled feet enhance mounting flexibility (143T-404T), while motors of size 254T and larger can be converted from F1 to F2 orientation.
