Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60 HP or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, select the control power used for closing the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. Options available include a direct-online starter if line power is used as control power, separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, and remote start terminals for activation from an external switch. The specific model features a 38 A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, 100-250 V AC/DC coil, and 16-20 A overload, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
