3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP420 maintains bond strength at high and low temperatures and can withstand paint bake operations up to 400°F for 60 minutes. It works well on a variety of substrates such as metals, ceramics, wood, glass, many composites, and plastics, making it an excellent indoor bonding agent for joining, gluing, potting, panel bonding, and structural bonding. This off-white epoxy adhesive meets the requirements for UL 94 HB and is suitable for various applications and markets, including transportation, general industrial, and signage segments. It is a two-part, rigid epoxy that cures rigidly for high static load holding and high shear strength, ensuring lasting bonds for challenging applications while being toughened for impact and fatigue resistance. The adhesive offers ample opportunity for repositioning with a 20-minute work life, allowing time for adjustment. It cures at room temperature, making it beneficial for heat-sensitive parts and a convenient solution, although it may also be accelerated by heat for faster curing. Recommended applications include small joint assembly, heavy-duty mounting assembly, metalworking, and carbon fiber epoxy bonding.
