3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive 2216 is a flexible, two-part epoxy adhesive that cures at room temperature, providing a high strength bond with both high shear and peel strength while remaining highly flexible, making it suitable for applications involving vibration and thermal expansion. The adhesive maintains a strong bond under expansion, contraction, and limited movement, making it ideal for dissimilar surfaces with different coefficients of thermal expansion. It features a 2:3 mix ratio and low viscosity for smooth flow and accurate dispensing, with both base and accelerator coded in contrasting colors for easy identification. Designed for cryogenic bonding applications, it withstands frigid temperatures as low as -423°F (-252°C) and offers a 90-minute work life at room temperature, with a slow cure time of 7 days or a heat cure option reducing this to as little as 30 minutes at 200°F (93°C). The bonded shear strength can withstand up to 3,200 psi at 72°F (24°C), and its flexibility and resistance to extreme shock, vibration, and flexing make it highly suitable for potting and applications in the transportation industries.
