The 3M™ Hookit™ Film Disc 360L features an aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a film backing, providing effective fine sanding on plastics, gel coats, and polyurethane solid surface substrates. Its sturdy film backing ensures durability in high-production environments, while excellent resistance to edge tearing extends the disc's lifespan compared to standard A-weight paper backings. The film backing delivers a close-tolerance, consistent finish suitable for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, and sanding automotive primer. This product incorporates an open coat construction that helps reduce loading on the disc, omitting a load-resistant stearate coating. The 3M™ Hookit™ hook-and-loop attachment allows for easy re-use, enabling the disc to be utilized multiple times throughout its lifespan, and it is compatible with the low-profile 3M™ Hookit™ disc pad (sold separately) for use on a random orbital sander. The Film Disc 360L is available in a range of grades for varying applications, from fine sanding to finishing. Aluminum oxide, known for its fast cut-rate and long life, is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to reveal fresh cutting edges, making it ideal for both sanding and grinding applications across a variety of materials, including ferrous alloys. 3M™ also offers a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ discs, which are particularly beneficial in workspaces where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or debris. The Hookit™ discs are designed to provide finer finishes compared to adhesive-backed options.
