3M™ Hookit™ Paper Disc 236U is designed for aggressive cut and long life, featuring a premium aluminum oxide abrasive on a durable disc with convenient Hookit™ attachment. This disc is well suited for high production sanding operations and general purpose applications on a variety of materials, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites such as fiberglass. It is intended for use with a random orbital sander, utilizing a strong C-weight paper backing that resists tearing and edge wear during intense sanding. The resin-bonded construction increases heat-resistance, further enhancing the disc's longevity and cutting efficiency. With an open coat and a load-resistant coating, the disc excels in dust management, allowing it to continue cutting effectively even on softwoods and paints that might typically clog the surface. This loading is reduced by the open coat design, which spaces the abrasive grains to help dust escape, optimizing both cut-rate and disc life. The 3M™ Hookit™ Paper Disc 236U attaches firmly to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) for easy removal and reuse.
